My daughter, Emma, loves owls. I don't know why, maybe all children do. I suppose their round faces and wide eyes have something of the manga cartoon about them and indeed on some level something that recalls children too.
We were both a little disappointed not to encounter some kind of owl on our camping microadventure on days 16 & 17 of 30 Days Wild and it would be crazy to allow this month to pass without on post about these beautiful birds of prey. On Day 22, and with the finish line in sight, I thought it best for us to pop in to the Raptor Foundation - our local sanctuary to see the owls.
There was just time after school today to get some good quality owl watching in.
A few words About the Raptor Foundation:

In their own words their role is to:
"Provide medical care for injured raptors.
